Explore Tacita Dean's 'JG' With Upcoming Lecture Series


Arcadia University Art Gallery is pleased to announce the presentation of JG, a new film project by internationally acclaimed British born, Berlin-based artist Tacita Dean.

Alumni are invited to explore JG, a sequel in technique to Dean’s 2011 project for the Tate Modern’s Turbine Hall, with Arcadia’s faculty and guest lecturers. Upcoming events include:

Internship and Career Fair, March 5

career-fairNearly 40 local and regional organizations will be on the lookout for Arcadia University students and alumni at the annual spring Internship and Career Fair which will be held on March 5 from 1 to 4 p.m. in Grey Towers Castle.

Due to the diverse nature of the participating employers, students and alumni from most majors or degree/ certificate programs will be met with full-time or internship opportunities that suit their interests.

Alumni from all years are encouraged to attend. Admission to the event is free and registration can be completed at the door. Those attending are encouraged to bring multiple resumes.

Connect and Re-Engage with the Black Awareness Society, April 27

BAS-DinnerThe Arcadia University Black Awareness Society extends an invitation to alumni to attend a dinner on Saturday, April 27 from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Great Room of the Commons.

The evening will feature greetings and remarks by President Carl (Tobey) Oxholm III and Provost Dr. Steve O. Michael and will include musical performances, alumni testimonialsand networking opportunities.

Join us in this celebration and networking of students and alumni of color to reconnect to the past, engage with the present, and move to future. Share your ideas on how the Arcadia community can continue its commitment to diversity.

Wednesday, March 12: An Evening of Chocolate and Wine, Castle Dining Room, 7 p.m. Tickets are still available to this popular alumni event. Cost: $30 per person.

Thursday, March 21: Alumni and Class of 2013 Happy Hour. Welcome Arcadia University’s graduating class to the Alumni Association. Plush, 256 N. Keswick Ave., Glenside, 5-7pm. A $3 donation to the Annual Fund will be collected at the door where you will receive a wristband entitling you to Arcadia drink specials.

Friday, March 22: Quad-A hosts March Madness at Arcadia University, Stein Fireplace Lounge, from 6 to 10 p.m. Bring your bracket and cheer on your favorite NCAA basketball team while enjoying food and beverages. This event is sponsored by Quad A. Cost is $10 per person.

Thursday, March 28: Social Media 101, Landman Library, University Gallery Room, 7-8:30 p.m. Human Resources professional Maya Johnson ‘97, will present to students and alumni on the basics of effective social media use. Learn how to secure a professional and appropriate online presence.

Wednesday, April 3: Trivia Night at Jerzee's Sports Bar, 2609 Mt. Carmel Ave., Glenside at 8 p.m. Come out and have fun with your friends with a challenging night of trivia fun. No registration necessary.

Thursday, April 4: Financial Fundamentals for Life Decisions, Grey Towers Castle Rose and Mirror Rooms, 7 - 9 p.m. Nathan Hayward '06, '09M and John Krause '07 present the basics of finances to students and recent alumni. Learn how to budget, buy a car, move out on your own and save for the future.

Sunday, April 7: Quad-A Sponsors Philadelphia Wings Game. Cost: $20 includes ticket and voucher for hot dog, soda and popcorn. The game starts at at 4 p.m. Tickets must be reserved by March 25.
