Athletic Hall of Fame Room Honors Arcadia’s Pride and Success

Athletic Hall of Fame Room: A Place of Pride and TraditionThe Athletic Hall of Fame room, a nostalgic gem at the heart of Kuch Center, celebrates Arcadia University’s athletic success. The space chronicles the University’s longstanding winning tradition, from the women who led Beaver athletics abroad to the early inclusion of male athletes, and now Arcadia’s NCAA athletes.

In addition to individual and team awards and trophies, the room features a photo mural that breathes life into Arcadia’s athletics foundation. “The photos in the mural represent the full history of athletics at Arcadia, not just Hall of Fame athletes,” says Shirley Liddle, Athletics Director. Student and Young Alumni Leaders Gather in Dome for Reunion

Student and Young Alumni Leaders Gather in Dome for ReunionBy Michael Minetti, Assistant Director for Young Alumni and Students

On Feb. 18 students and alumni gathered for the first-ever Student and Young Alumni Leader Reunion. Alumni Relations invited current students and the past five graduated classes of RAs, CAs, OLs, Class Officers and others in leadership roles to come together for an afternoon of networking, relationship building and discussion. More than 40 students and alumni spent time together in the Dome building connections, playing games, listening to music and having fun.

"Working on an event and an organization that bridges the gap between current students and alumni, asking them to come together to, collectively, improve their Arcadia community, has been a mini dream-come-true," says Ali Stefanik ’11, who helped organize the event with Grace Wainwright ’10. Baseball Gears Up for Spring Trip; Florida Alumni Invited to Game, Reception

Coach Ken Spangenberg ’08By Chris Macchi ’12

The game of baseball can be incredibly unforgiving, and a little luck always comes into play. As the Arcadia University Baseball team opens the new season, first-year Coach Ken Spangenberg ’08 has players focused on preparing themselves for the aspects of the game that they can control. That all started with pre-season and continues as the team travels to Florida for a five-game roadtrip.

Coming off of a tough 2011 campaign, coaches and players are relishing the opportunities ahead. “We expect to surprise some teams right away,” says Spangenberg. “If we leave the field playing the best baseball we can play, then we will be satisfied regardless of the end results. In a sport like baseball where a player can hit 10 line drives in 10 at-bats and still get out all 10 times, all we can worry about is the effort we put forth in order to be successful.” Read more.
