Scholarships Available for Summer Study Abroad in France
Special scholarships are available for summer study abroad in France, thanks to the generosity of Marie-Louise Vermeiren Jackson, a member of Arcadia University's Board of Trustees. Dependents of Arcadia alumni are encouraged to apply. Arcadia's Center for Education Abroad announced the availability of scholarship funds specifically directed toward undergraduate students participating in a new summer program at Arcadia's affiliated campus in Paris. To Shred or Not to Shred
The Office of Career Development maintains reference files for you after graduation. You can have letters of reference sent to Career Development who will maintain them in a file and then send copies to grad schools or potential employers. Career Development is pleased to offer this service to students and alumni. But with 30 years of files, it is time to do some spring cleaning! Beginning July 1, the office will begin shredding files older than seven years, unless you contact them and request that your file remains active. You can call us at 215-572-2939 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
See You in Paris!
Arcadia's celebration of 60 years of study abroad continues this summer in Paris. From July 1 to 6, faculty, students and staff will "recreate" Arcadia's bicycle and educational tours from the late '40s and early '50s in Paris. Join us for lectures, museum visits and bicycle tours of the city and surrounding areas. For more information, contact Georgene Pilling, Director of Alumni Relations, at 215-572-2946 or email@example.com.

The Class of 1973 Reunion Committee— Pamela Martin-Molina, Julia Bronstein Miles, Mary Pacioni Alderfer, Monique Miller and Melissa Hough—met in the Castle to make plans for Reunion 2008. This is their 35th Reunion year and they are gearing up for a grand celebration. All classes ending in 3s and 8s are invited to return to campus for a weekend of international festivities.
Study Abroad? Tell Your Story
Now is your chance to share your study abroad memories. Sixty years ago, Arcadia helped found the modern concept of study abroad. Throughout 2008 Arcadia celebrates its legacy of internationalization, recognizing the impact of global perspectives in the classroom and through study abroad. Students, faculty, staff and alumni are invited to build on this legacy. Let us know—through writings, photos, videos or audio clips—what you learned and how it has impacted your life. Visit www.arcadia.edu/studyabroadmemories for guidelines and submission forms. Read more.
The four-week Paris experience offers qualified students a unique interdisciplinary curriculum through which they will study French language and European and French international relations, politics, and government. This opportunity is based at the American Graduate School of International Relations and Diplomacy in Paris. Get information on the program in Paris or find out more about Arcadia’s diverse summer offerings. Generous financial assistance is available for the summer-in-Paris program. If you are interested in applying for this aid, please contact Sue Richardson, France Program Coordinator, at Arcadia’s Center for Education Abroad at 215-572-2901.
Once you have made a gift to the 2008 Arcadia Annual Fund, you will receive a brochure with a paver order form. If you need additional information or would like to place your order by phone, please call the Annual Fund Office at 215-572-2124 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
