Arcadia Family Reunites at Homecoming 2013

Arcadia Family Reunites at Homecoming 2013Despite forecasts of rain, Homecoming at Fall Fest turned out to be a beautiful day. On Saturday, more than 300 alumni, family, and friends came back to campus to enjoy a variety of events. Some started the day with a vigorous 5K run which benefited Arcadia Athletics. The annual Athletic Hall of Fame ceremony followed and honored this year’s inductees as well as inductees from prior years.

Many alumni and their children meandered up and down the student activity tables, enjoying the Fall Fest carnival and picnic lunch. There was plenty of excitement as the men’s soccer team won in double overtime and the women’s soccer team tied Stevenson University. For the latest on Arcadia University Athletics, follow the Knights via social media on Facebook and Twitter, or sign up for text message alerts.

As has become tradition at Arcadia, a spectacular fireworks display followed the alumni evening picnic, highlighting Grey Towers Castle and Haber Green. The festivities continued as the Physical Therapy alumni and friends gathered at a beer tasting and silent auction and the ALANA alumni mingled at a dessert reception in the Commons. View photos.

Lost Alumni Contest: Congratulations to Lisa Dunkelberger ’07

Edie ClarkLisa Dunkelberger ’07 was the winner of our Lost Alumni contest. Lisa was, coincidentally, a member of the class which found the most lost classmates and took special effort in requesting a lost class list to help find “lost” alums.

The Office of Alumni Relations thanks all who referred friends to the alumni update form. Don’t stop now! We will continue to raffle off prizes to those who update their contact information and to those who refer “lost” alumni to the update form. Email alumni@arcadia.edu and request a lost list. Prizes will be selected on the 1st of each month through May 2014.

Alumna Publishes What There Was Not to Tell

Edie ClarkIn What There Was Not to Tell, Edie Clark ’70 sets out to fill in the details of the gaping hole that was created in her family’s life by the death of a man she never met. What she discovered is a riveting story that is both tragic yet somehow triumphant, uniquely personal yet universal.

"This is a surprising and thoroughly compelling tale of how a single casualty of war can set off chain reactions of heartbreaking loss, undying love, and unshakable loyalty across multiple generations," notes Dayton Duncan, author of The Dust Bowl and The National Parks: America's Best Idea. "At the same time, it is an incredible piece of family detective work that keeps taking unexpected twists and turns."

The book can be ordered through her website, www.edieclark.com or through your local bookstore.
