Season's Greetings from Office of Alumni Relations
The Office of Alumni Relations wishes you a joy-filled holiday season and a happy new year.
This year's holiday card speaks of “Peace and Joy” from Arcadians all around the world, signified by the flags of countries where Arcadia has study abroad programs, tied together by the doves of peace. The word “peace” is written in seven different languages and winds its way around the edges of the card to embrace the world. This was the inspiration of Eric Forster ’13, a Graphic Design student whose card was chosen this year to wish alumni and friends “a world of holiday cheer.”
The Holiday Card tradition is a class project for students enrolled in Graphic Design IV with David Copesakes ’02, Assistant Professor of Art and Design. Over a dozen cards are submitted and only two win the privilege of becoming the Holiday greeting for the University President and the Office of Alumni Relations.
"After Arcadia, I intend to keep up with the design field, in particular user interface design," says Forster. "I have always been interested in technology and how the user interacts with it. It amazes me how quickly someone an pick up an iPhone, for example, and use it comfortably within a few minutes of playing with it. Someone had to design how that interface works, and make it work seamlessly. Good design is invisible design." |
