Leave an Impression: Mentor a Student This Fall

The Honors Program invites you to be part of a very exciting initiative that is starting this fall. Interested alumni will be paired with two to three Honors students for the purposes of a four-year mentor program.

As you know, the relationships you build as you go on your professional and personal journey are some of the most important influences on your success and happiness. As such, we think it is very important to help our students create these mentoring relationships. And, who could be better to provide this assistance than alumni who once sat in the very place our students are in today? More.

Community Service Opportunity, June 23

Arcadia is hosting a community service opportunity with One Step Away’s Vendor for a Day Program on Saturday, June 23. The Vendor for the Day program allows participants to experience homelessness and poverty first hand by hitting the streets with vendors to distribute Philadelphia’s street paper.

Donations earned in the Vendor for a Day program go directly to the homeless, helping them secure housing and break the cycle of homelessness.

The Vendor for a Day program offers participants a meaningful and personal learning experience about poverty and homelessness.

Praetzel Embarks on Coast-to-Coast Run

Chris Praetzel ’12 arrived on campus in August 2008 destined to make a splash. Four years later, having earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sports Psychology, Praetzel has embarked on a new journey. A week after delivering an inspirational speech to his classmates at their graduation ceremony, he started a cross country run—more than 3,000-miles—to raise organ donation awareness.

The aptly named Brotherly Love Run is inspired by Praetzel's younger brother, Brian, who received a life-saving kidney transplant in 1996. Praetzel sees the run as an opportunity to challenge himself and to raise awareness about organ donation, as more than half of all Americans are not registered organ donors. Story and video.

Show Your AU Pride on Your Ride This Summer

The Office of Alumni Relations offers a Special Organization License Plate ($20) and License Plate Frames ($15) available to all those affiliated with Arcadia University.

Specialty plates are manufactured in standard plate colors - blue, white, and yellow. The layout will consist of Arcadia University’s emblem displayed on the left of the plate followed by a two-letter designation to the left or right of five numbers. Arcadia University appears across the bottom of the plate and "Pennsylvania" is printed across the top of the plate.

Special Organization plates are currently available for passenger cars, motor homes and trucks with a registered gross weight of 10,000 pounds or less.
