Community Service Opportunity, June 23

Community Service Opportunity, June 23Arcadia is hosting a community service opportunity with One Step Away’s Vendor for a Day Program on Saturday, June 23. The Vendor for the Day program allows participants to experience homelessness and poverty first hand by hitting the streets with vendors to distribute Philadelphia’s street paper.

Donations earned in the Vendor for a Day program go directly to the homeless, helping them secure housing and break the cycle of homelessness.

The Vendor for a Day program offers participants a meaningful and personal learning experience about poverty and homelessness.

Alumni who are interested in this unique volunteer experience should register here. If you have any questions, please email Michael Minetti, Assistant Director for Young Alumni and Students, at minettim@arcadia.edu.

Provide a Home to an International Student

Provide a Home to an International StudentThe Office of International Affairs is looking for local families interested in opening their homes to international students who have just arrived in the United States. These families would host students for a week or longer (view opportunities), providing food and lodging and helping the new arrivals reflect on their experiences at Arcadia.

“In addition to helping the incoming student, hosting an international student is a really fun way to teach young people about different cultures,” notes Jan Finn, Associate Dean of International Affairs.
