Learn about Publishing, Celebrate with Cinco Puntos Press
While many reunion classes are busy planning events for Reunion, the Class of 1967 has reason to celebrate in both March and June. Classmates are invited back to campus on Friday, March 23—a few weeks before marking their 45-year reunion—to recognize Lee Merrill Byrd ’67 and her achievements in the publishing world.
The celebration will begin with a publishing workshop on Friday, March 23, at 2 p.m. in the Castle Mirror Room. A special sit-down dinner for the class of 1967 will be held in the Rose and Mirror Rooms at 5 p.m. The entire Arcadia community is invited to a reading at 7:30 p.m. in the Mirror Room. (Arrive at 7 p.m. for refreshments.)
Byrd founded Cinco Puntos Press in 1985 in El Paso, Texas, with her husband, Bobby. Since its establishment, the company has won the American Book Award for excellence in publishing and was inducted into the Latino Literary Hall of Fame. Read more.
