Alumni Travel to ‘Glacial Mountains
and Emerald Lakes’ in the Canadian Rockies
By Georgene Pilling ’04M, Director of Alumni Relations
A hearty group of alumni and friends met in Vancouver, British Columbia, on July 18 to begin a nine-day adventure through the Canadian Rockies. The journey began with a full day of sightseeing in Victoria, learning about the Story Poles in Stanley Park, gingerly walking across the swaying planks of the Capilano Suspension Bridge, and strolling through busy downtown before boarding VIA Rails to experience the nostalgic lure of train travel that took us overnight through the Canadian countryside to Jasper National Park. Michael Minetti: New Assistant Director
for Young Alumni and Students
Michael Minetti, Assistant Director for Young Alumni and Students, is a new addition to the Office of Alumni Relations. The Conshohocken, Pa., native arrived in early July with boundless energy, a passion for service, and a wealth of creative ideas to share.
“My new role at Arcadia offers a lot of room for creativity both on my end and for the students and young alumni,” he says. “There are a lot of ways that we can start to connect alumni back to the University. I have my own ideas that I have started to initiate, but I really want hear from the young alumni about what they are interested in.” Students and alumni with programming ideas should contact Minetti at firstname.lastname@example.org or 215-572-2094 or stop by his office in Blankley Alumni House.
Ice Cream Social Draws Hundreds
to Blankley Alumni House
gathered at Blankley Alumni House on Monday, Aug. 29, for the annual
Ice Cream Social, sponsored by the Office of Alumni Relations. “We
ordered enough ice cream for 600 people and ran out,” says Mike
Minetti, Assistant Director for Students and Young Alumni.
“On top of what we originally ordered, we got eight additional five-gallon
tubs of ice cream.... We also had 20 recent graduates return to
campus to scoop ice cream, spend time with the new students, and
re-connect with each other. It goes to show that no matter where
you are in life or how busy you are, you should always have time
for ice cream and friends.”
