2006 Holiday Greetings (Cont'd)

When the holiday season is over, and we collapse into our favorite chairs—our treasures re-packed and our cookies long-gone—we face the stark realization that the cold, gray winter season is upon us. There is something wonderful, though, to be said about the barrenness of winter—the quiet landscape and the frosty chill of the outdoors. Snug in our homes—wrapped in sweaters and tucked into our slippers—we are reminded that warmth comes from within, and we can spend the winter months stoking our hearts with warm reflections of golden days past and thoughtfully contemplate the New Year before us. The Arcadia Alumni Relations staff sends you warm wishes for a wonderful holiday season of good health, much happiness, and the glad tidings of family and friends.

Olympic Skater Looks to PT Alum (Cont'd)

Fontana ultimately overcame challenging circumstances to make the Italian Olympic team and successfully moved on to skate in Turin. Gibble attributed her exceptional recovery to her focus and determination with every physical therapy treatment session, which often included two sessions a day and weekends. Fontana’s career accolades include several Italian Figure Skating Championships, a bronze medal at the women’s World Figure Skating Championships, and a memorable appearance at the 2006 Winter Olympics.

Gibble, has given much of his career to treating musculoskeletal injuries sustained during sports activities and work-related injuries. In doing so, he has had a variety of experiences while working with professional athletes, Broadway performers, and members of the New York City Philharmonic Orchestra.

Following graduation from Arcadia University, Gibble provided physical therapy services at a sports medicine facility in New York City. For nearly three years, he gained experience with the New York Knicks of the National Basketball Association, completing pre-season and pre-signing physical therapy evaluations. Currently, Gibble is co-owner and co-director of Excel Orthopedic Rehabilitation in New Jersey.

Despite Gibble’s hard work and relentless dedication to improving his skills as a physical therapist, he refuses to accept the credit for his success. “I truly believe that the success I have achieved as a physical therapist stems largely from the influence my professors had on me at Arcadia,” Gibble says. Each taught with great passion and infused this passion into the coursework. They made learning exciting by creating an environment for growth and empowering the students. Today, I manage and lead my team of physical therapists with the same tools of empowerment.”

Gibble says that he comes to work everyday with the same passion and excitement that he had 20 years ago when he graduated from Arcadia University. Return to Top
