One of my major interests is international study and travel. I was in China on a faculty exchange with East China Normal University in Shanghai in May 2000, returned with students in May 2002, and visited again in June 2004. Pictures of the mathematics undergraduates in China are posted separately.

I earned my Ph.D. at the University of Alberta in 1972 and became an Associate of the Society of Actuaries in 1980. I am currently Professor of Mathematics at Arcadia University. My previous experience was at the University of Texas (1972-74), University of Missouri (1974-76), CNA Insurance (1977-78), College of St Scholastica (1978-1985), and University of Bridgeport (1985-90).

I spent January- June 1997 in Ghana- and had a wonderful time. I was a Visiting Professor of Mathematics at the University of Ghana in Accra, Ghana and my daughter Sorelle was a student at Achimota Secondary School. The picture below is of my topology class at the University. One student from that class, Alexander Nkumsah completed a masters degree in computer science at Oregon State and another, Charles Addo-Quaye, completed has doctorate in computer science at Pennsylvania State University, August 2009. Congratulations, Charles!.

One of my major interests is playing klezmer music with friends. The name of our group was Knish (We haven't played together in a long time.)
