“Other Islands: recent video works by Sharon Hayes and Danielle Mericle” About the artists Sharon Hayes has presented her installation, video and performance works
in New York at P.S. 1 Museum of Contemporary Art, Andrew Kreps Gallery,
Parlour Projects, Dance Theater Workshop, Dixon Place, Performance Space
122, the Joseph Papp Public Theater, and the New Museum of Contemporary
Art, as well as at venues across the country. Danielle Mericle is a photographer and video artist whose work has been exhibited at venues such as the George Eastman House (Rochester, New York), White Columns, and Von Lintel and Nusser Gallery (both in New York, New York), The Pittsburgh Center for the Arts, and The Contemporary (Atlanta, Georgia). She received her MFA from Syracuse University in 2003 and currently resides in Ithaca, New York. Nick Muellner is a photo-based artist, writer, and curator who lives and works in Ithaca. In addition to individual and group exhibitions in New York and Philadelphia—including "Moscow Plastics Arts," his solo exhibition at Arcadia University Art Gallery in 2005—he has collaborated on numerous curatorial projects. He recently organized Now Is The Winter, an exhibition of politically and psychologically linked works by U.S. and Russian artists that was presented at Proekt_Fabrika (Moscow) earlier this year. He is currently editing a critical anthology on international visual culture in 1968. Muellner received a BA in Comparative Literature from Yale University and an MFA in Photography from Tyler School of Art, Temple University. He teaches Photography and Critical Studies at the Park School of Communications, Ithaca College.
