Siobhan Nichols ’11 On Publishing Her First Book

As for the future, and life after Arcadia, Nichols has high hopes for herself. Her ultimate goal is to be on the New York Times bestseller list. However, until then, she hopes that she can become a successful enough author that her writing can cover the cost of her living expenses and she does not have to have a typical 9-to-5 job that will make her “grumpy.” She plans to work toward these goals by focusing on the five other books she is currently writing, two of which are sequels to The Darling Rebels.
Nichols has some advice to share with inspiring writers at Arcadia, “Keep at it. If you believe in your story, keep writing. Keep writing anyway, actually. Don't listen to people who tell you that you can't write something brilliant because you're young.”
