The publishing process for Natural Habitats was the same arduous one that goes along with all publications. Reale worked on repeatedly editing her stories, compiling a manuscript, researching markets, and finally sending off her finished product with the hopes of a press picking it up. Within two weeks she had received an offer from Burning River.

In addition to her role at Landman Library, Reale is working to complete a master of arts in Humanities, which will be her third master's degree as she also has a master's of science in library science from Clarion University.

Even with her busy schedule she still finds time to write. She describes herself as being extremely disciplined and writes every day whether she wants to or not. “I sit at my desk, put music on, have my puppy and cats with me, either tea or coffee (usually coffee) and I get in the zone.”

Reale wants to pass on some advice to her fellow Arcadia students who are aspiring writers, “Read at least as much as you write. Write every day. Never give up. Ever.
