Arcadia Joins Creative Campus Celebration, First Friday

WHYY’s Creative Campus also came to Arcadia last fall and made a film of the Art Gallery installation of the artists participating in A Closer Look 7. The five artists, Phillip Adams, James Johnson, Kocot & Hatton, Lucy Pullen and Linda Yun, discussed their art and their installations. Also filmed was the lecture and discussion led by the curator of the exhibit, Sheryl Conkelton, Director of Exhibitions and Special Programs at Tyler School of Art. Richard Torchia, Director of Arcadia University’s Art Gallery, also was interviewed. Creative Campus was made possible by a grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development. In January 2009 the film crew came back for a feature on the history of Grey Towers Castle and spoke with the Castle historian, Dr. Mark Curchack, Associate Vice President for Planning and Assessment.
Arcadia’s two segments will be shown on WHYY over the next year as part of the Creative Campus schedule.
