First Lady Rendell Holds Civics Town Hall at Arcadia, Sept. 22

"The advancement of civic learning is a cause that is very dear to me," Rendell says. "As First Lady of Pennsylvania and a federal judge, I am determined to work to ensure that our youth have an understanding of their role as an effective citizen. This is indeed an exciting time to discuss civics and civic engagement."
"The message of Civics First reaches out to all ages in the state, and at Arcadia, we hope to engage the Education majors to inspire their future students," adds Elaine Scarpino, Associate Dean of Educational Outreach. "In support of this initiative, Scholastic Inc. will provide all educators who attend the program a set of the We the Kids teaching materials."
