Arcadia Graduate #1 on Forensic Science Assessment Test
(Continued from Bulletin home page)

“The first-hand knowledge and real-world experience of the instructors is something you rarely come across in a university setting,” says Messenger, who had the fifth highest score. “At the Fredric Rieders Family Renaissance Foundation, we get to use the instruments and techniques that are used in real forensic laboratories, and we are taught by NMS Labs employees who are still working in the forensic science field.”

Arcadia is one of only 11 forensic science master’s programs accredited by the Forensic Science Education Program Accreditation Commission (FEPAC). Students from nine forensic science schools participated in the 2009 test, which is offered annually by the American Board of Criminalistics and helps students test their skills.

“I was very excited to find out that I had ranked number one on the FSAT. I actually thought about framing the letter when I received it,” says Casselberry, who came to Arcadia from Longmont, Colo. “The preparation from just what we learned in class pretty much covered the majority of what was on the test, especially with regards to biology and toxicology. The Forensic Science program is well-rounded and gives students the best opportunity to do well on the FSAT
