Spring Break Abroad

Preview destinations:

  • London Preview—a program for 163 first-year students, 21 faculty and staff leaders
  • Scotland Preview—a 2-credit program for 69 first-year students, with 7 faculty and staff
  • Spain Preview—a 2-credit course for 40 first-year students, with 4 faculty and staff
  • Italy Preview—a 2-credit program for new transfer students, with 57 students, 6 faculty and staff

Service Learning: A total of 33 students, accompanied by Community Service Coordinator Cindy Rubino and Enrollment Management Counselor Kyle Danielson, are volunteering through Arcadia’s Alternate Spring Break Program. They depart for Mexico and a Tijuana Community Building project from March 9 to 15. Tijuana, Mexico, is a border city south of San Diego. “We will once again be working with Esperanza International to help build homes and communities,” says Rubino. 

  • Tijuana, Mexico—33 students and 2 staff leaders

Classes Going Abroad: Arcadia offersID 181 and ID 381 courses in which students study at Glenside, spend time abroad, then finish the course at Glenside. Several of these classes also are doing short-term international educational experiences over spring break.

  • Visual Culture in India—9 students, taught by Dr. Shekhar Deshpande, Associate Professor and Director of Communications
  • Visual Artist in Italy—15 students led by Judith Taylor, Associate Professor of Fine Arts
  • Service Learning in Guatemala—21 students led by Terry Greiner, Adjunct Professor
