Mid-Atlantic Curriculum Studies Project
Work-in-Progress Conference, Thursday, July 16, 2009
Arcadia University

2009 Summer Conference

We are gathering to inaugurate the Mid-Atlantic Curriculum Studies Project, meeting as a writing group to share work in progress. A day-long extravaganza, this informal gathering will set the stage for future meetings in the Mid-Atlantic region. The Mid-Atlantic Curriculum Studies Project is an affiliate of the American Association for the Advancement of Curriculum Studies (http://aaacs.info) and the International Association for the Advancement of Curriculum Studies (http://www.iaacs.org/), which support a "worldwide" - but not "uniform" - field of curriculum studies. Like these geographically grander organizations, the Mid-Atlantic Curriculum Studies Project provides organizational support for a rigorous and scholarly conversation within and across national and regional borders regarding the content, context, and process of education, the organizational and intellectual center of which is the curriculum. Drafts shared at our meeting might be perfect for proposals to present at the AAACS annual meeting in Denver in 2010 – stay tuned for the call for proposals.
