  1. Ronda Wicker’s autoethnography. Ronda and Valda are coming at 5:00 to help us think about our questions re: multiculturalism.
  2. Conversation: how can we pursue diversity in our educational contexts? What are the resources? What are the distractors or barriers? (This is our discussion of the readings on multiculturalism and the video “Fear and Learning in Hoover Elementary.”)
  3. Curriculum Application.
    1. Handout – Specifications Sheet for the Curriculum Application Assignment.
    2. Small groups share curriculum story/idea and begin to suggest to each other ways to modify, enhance, and strengthen the plan given our course ideas on cultural foundations and multicultural education.
    3. Sleeter & Grant examples of “before” and “after” lessons. Compare Sleeter and Grant with your own discussions – how do they differ, how are they similar in the kinds of changes made?
  4. Literature Circle Role Choices --suggestions for new roles and group creation
5. As time permits, today or this Wednesday, Pam & Mike sharing ideas from their excursions.
