Brinker's Article on Double Deductions Published in Journal
"The Disallowance of Double Deductions: Are Tax-Deduction Options Available?" by Thomas M. Brinker Jr., Professor of Accounting, and Christopher M. Harvey was published in the April 2009 Journal of Financial Service Professionals.
Biggs Named Associate Editor of Journal
Dr. William Biggs, retired Professor of business, has been asked to become an Associate Editor for Simulation & Gaming: An Interdisciplinary Journal of Theory, Practice and Research. He previously served as an Associate Editor and Editor for the Business section of the journal.
INternational Experiences

M.B.A. Students Explore New International Sites
Committed to giving students a global learning experience, the M.B.A. program is strengthening its international presence by establishing five new sites. All students in the program spend one week in an emerging economy and one week in a developed economy. The sites for 2009-10 are China (Beijing and Shanghai), Spain (Barcelona), Ireland (Dublin), France (Paris), and Costa Rica (San Jose and Manuel Antonio). Read more. |

Arcadia’s M.B.A. Program Eligible for Accreditation
The M.B.A. program currently is pursuing accreditation from the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP). Arcadia’s undergraduate business program already is accredited by ACBSP and, now that the M.B.A. is in its fourth year, the graduate program is eligible. Read more.
M.B.A. Offers Five Concentrations and Certificates
Arcadia’s M.B.A. program now is offering five concentrations and certificates. These will be offered in conjunction with the M.B.A. with an International Perspective or taken as standalone graduate certificates. The courses are offered in an online format. Read more.
IPCR and M.B.A. Collaborate to Offer New Concentration
Beginning this fall, Arcadia will offer an M.B.A. in International Peace and Conflict Resolution (IPCR). This new concentration allows students to combine peace studies with an examination of the global business environment. It goes well beyond the concepts of peace studies and human rights by incorporating fieldwork and problem-based learning focused on conflict resolution and sustainable development. Read more.

M.B.A. Program Launches Cohort Challenge
“I believe in the M.B.A. program,” says Susan Richardson '08M.B.A. on why she got involved with the Cohort Challenge, part of At Home & In the World—The Campaign for Arcadia University. “It is important to me that others are provided the same opportunities to grow.” Read more.
Satinoff Inducted into Honor Society
Michele Satinoff '09M.B.A. recently was inducted into the Phi Chapter of the Alpha Epsilon Lambda (AEL) Honor Society. AEL recognizes the academic and leadership accomplishments of graduate and professional school students. Satinoff, along with other Arcadia recipients, was honored at a banquet ceremony on April 17.

Introducing Arcadia’s Business Alumni Association
Arcadia’s Business Alumni Association (ABAA), founded by Ed Welch '08M.B.A., provides a venue for undergraduate and graduate business students to network, stay connected and share resources. ABAA fosters connections between students, graduates and the community by hosting and organizing networking and charitable events, and informational lectures. “The benefit of ABAA is a community that you have an affinity to that becomes a tremendous resource after graduation,” says Welch. M.B.A. Grad Working for Global Firm
Nyime Brown '08M.B.A. has landed a dream job after learning some important business skills from Dr. Tony Muscia, Executive Director of Arcadia’s M.B.A. with an International Perspective. She works as a Global Trainee for Skanska, a global engineering and construction firm. Skanska employs 60,000 people worldwide and Brown is one of 21 who participate in the global training program.
