Welcome! The Computer Science and Mathematics Department of Arcadia University offers programs in Computer Science, Computing Technology, Mathematics, and Actuarial Science. In addition, in cooperation with Columbia University, we offer a five year dual degree program in Engineering. We welcome students in all of these disciplines. New courses! In Spring 2009 Dr Rick Arras offered International Computer Ethics for the first time. During Fall 2009 Mr. Mickey Engel is teaching Data Sharing Through XML. In Spring 2010 Dr Arras will offer an Introduction to Programming using Alice, which is a graphical interface for programming, and Mr. Jim Lecher will offer Derivative Markets, an introduction to the mathematics of financial derivatives. During Fall 10 or Spring 11 Dr Yanxia Jia will teach a course on programming for smart phones.

Award: Renee Starr, Director of the Developmental Math and the Math Lab at Arcadia University, has won the Pennsylvania Association in Developmental Education (PADE) Award for Exemplary Teaching in Developmental Education. Congratulations!

Conference. Dr Xizhong Zheng will Co-Chair the Organizing and Programming Committees of the 7th International Conference on Computability and Complexity in Analysis, to be held in Zhenjiang, China June 21-25, 2010. Arcadia University is a co-sponsor of the conference.

Faculty -Student Publication: We are proud to announce that the paper, READY: Routing Based on Early Aggregartion and Dynamic Paths for Wireless Sensor Networks, by Dr Yanxia Jia and Arcadia students Jaime Mickelson and Tabatha Simpson, has been accepted for publication in the proceedings of the International Conference on Next Generation Wireless Systems.
